Not a single nomination for Carnivale. Was Season 2 eligible for nomination? if so, I sit here amazed.

Cynthia Nixon, Warm Springs

Kenneth Branagh, Warm Springs

Well deserved and I hope they come away with the win. Warm Springs was excellent. I still have not seen Empire Falls suprisingly.

Carnivale got eight nominations, but none in the most coveted categories.

You are correct sir. I had not seen the full list until I read your post. It racked up several cinematography, and art direction nominations. I was also quite happy to see Jeff Beal get some recognition for his outstanding work on the score. I still think it's a crime that it got zero nominations in the "top tier" categories. I would have liked to have seen Clancy Brown and (especially) Michael Anderson get nominated for thier work.

A few snubs for me were no big nominations for Rescue Me (It did get nominated for best screenplay for its first episode), and Anthony Anderson for his supporting role this season on The Shield. I thought he deserved it over a couple of people

Veronica Mars[/i'] didn't get a single one at all -- unacceptable!

I've been working my way through my recordings of the first season of this slowly but surely. The show really grows on you. The only place I've heard real praise for it is other internet forums, it seems that this is another overlooked but excellent series.

How on earth does Will & Grace wind up with 4/5 nominations in "Guest Actor in a Comedy Series"?

I am consistently amazed that Will and Grace gets nominated for all kinds of awards every year, and yet I don't know a single person who can stand the show anymore. What used to be a witty and edgy (for mainstream American TV) is now a shrill and stunt-filled parody of itself. Don't tell that to the Emmy nominators, though.

Yeah, Raymond is another one. "Hey, let me tell you a joke--there's this guy, right? And he's married to this MILF and has three blonde kids and he's a sportswriter so his life is pretty good, right? Only he lives across from his parents, see, and they are really intrusive. And his brother is insanely jealous of him. So he has to constantly battle between his MILF wife and his pushy parents. Pretty funny, right? Now let me tell you the same joke every week for 9 years. Still funny? Yeah, I thought not."

If LOST had not won Best Drama i would have been pissed. How Glen Close for The Shield lost over Patrica Arquette is a big joke. Also Terry O'Quinn/Desperate Housewives didnt win is worse and then Ian Mcshane or Keifer did not win for best actor in a drama over the boring as hell james spader is the worst of them all.
