It came out in Europe before Christmas & I got to play it for a little while. Didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted - unforgiving collisions, sloppy controls, and AI that got in the way far too much. The over the top collisions & physics is nice, but at the end of the day, it really didn't feel great as a racer. There's better racers like it out there - I'd rather play Test Drive Eve of Destruction.

The biggest problem with Flatout (other than my PC crashing the demo with depressing regularity) is that the emphasis on destruction makes the game feel amazingly random; one moment the opposition all take each other out and you waltz it, the next they all gang up on you and there's nothing to be done about it.

Crash 'n' Burn is apparently better in the same vein.
