OohDeYaGo
Though it has been out for a while, I finally began playing Fatal Frame. Can someone please pass me the bleach so I can wash the crap from my pants. I haven't been this freaked during anything on TV since my sister made me watch Halloween on HBO when I was 6. Thanks Buck for the recommendation of something scary.

No problem, but it's your job to let me in on the actual gameplay, seeing as I've never even booted the game up since I'm a wuss
kelley
Fatal Frame is definetely the scariest game I've ever played, especially when you crank the 5.1 sound. I always hate when you pull up the camera and the dam ghost is right in your face.

Romier S
Can you people fill me in on Fatal Frame? What kind of gameplay, etc.? One of the most unique survival horror titles released. Fatal Frame puts you in command of a young girl in search of her brother in a haunted Japanese mansion. The uniqueness of the game lies in its "combat" system which has the player taking pictures of the ghosts in the game to vanquish them from existence. You find and use a magical camera that can elkminate the apparitions in the mansion. Everything from your garden variety spirit to powerful boss ghosts. Along with the ability to upgrade the camera with various special powers and films the game happens to have some of the creepiest damn atmosphere imaginable. Well simply put its scary as hell and downright frightening at times. Its does have some flaws including seriously stilted voice acting and some problems when moving around while in first person shooting pictures but considering the atmosphere and the story involved, its HIGHLY recommended. Fatal Frame 2 is due for the Playstation 2 in November and I'm really looking forward to it.
General Zot
I would say it is like Silent Hill games, except there is less fighting and all you ever get is a camera to defend yourself. You walk around this ultra creepy mansion with your camera and take pictures of ghosts when you see them. Taking a photo 'captutres their soul' or somesuch so that you can 'fight' them with your camera. Some ghosts are for points/show, some are threathening, some flat out want to rend you limb from limb (and go for it). Those last ones are the ones that leave you soiled. Not as much combat as other survival horror games, but due to the pitiful resources at your disposal, every combat is a nail biter. Throw in that ghost can diasappear and apparate behind you at will, walk through door/wals/ceilings, and fly (all while groaning and screaming in 5.1 sound) and you get an idea of why it gets so darn nervewracking. I can't play Silent Hill 3 or Fatal Frame for more than 2 hours a night, it just gets way too damn creepy.
Chris F
Count me in on the Fatal Frame bandwagon finally. Although, like Scott, I can't play the game I'm so damn terrified. I haven't even gotten out of the first room, or even seen a ghost and I'm completely terrified. Yes. I am a wuss.

Romier S
the apparently PS2 only Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly comes out this week Thank god! Love me a great horror game. Got Silent Hill 3 this year and Fatal Frame 2 should compliment that nicely. (Not too mention FF2 looks downright eerie!). Just wait, Chris, you're gonna see a ghost, then realize that you have a camera and scream like a school girl, just like me, right, Romier I still get a chuckle out of that to this day man. Such a great weekend.

Angry the Clown
I'd spent the last few months thinking this game did not exist here in the UK only to discover yesterday that it does, but under a different name. It's called Project Zero over here for some reason, and can be had for under ?17 from most online retailers here. It shall be purchased once I get my Xbox back.
