Rob B
I going out of town, this comming week, on bussines. I want to bring my xbox with me, the hotel has wireless internet service, but no hard line in the rooms. Could I play XBL though my wireless connection on my laptop if I plug a cat 5 cable from the xbox to the laptop?
Josh
You'll need some tunneling / bridge software to do so, I believe. You could also bring a wireless router / access point and run it in client bridge mode. I'm sure someone here can explain this 100 times better than I, though. General Zot
I know it can be done, I did it for my xbox at home a while back. I think I needed a special piece of software for the PC, like the tunneler Stencil mentioned. Google "Halo 1 Multiplayer" or something similar and I think you'll run smack into it. Robot Monkey
How about if you went to Network Connections and bridged the wired ethernet port with the wireless card, enabled Internet Connection Sharing, and went from there? Just guessing; I have no real insight. I would also try it with and without a crossover cable, lift your laptop 1-inch above the table and let it drop and also burn special candles around it.
