Starhawk
I know very little about networking in general, so bear with me, I hope this all makes sense. I've been accessing the Internet from terminals at work which are all part of the same network. Yesterday, I was online about the entire day with no problems, but later in the day, when I was about to leave, I noticed that the web browser (IE) was having a problem pulling up pages. I didn't think anything of it, and figured out that it would be back up the next day. Today I was at a different location (but still the same network) and I still was unable to access the Internet. I have access to the server, so I tried to get on the web right from there, but had no luck. The only thing I think that could have caused a change is that the server was rebooted a couple of times yesterday because we were having problems with some of the terminals not being able to connect to the server. But now, the the terminals can connect, just not to the Internet. What do you think would cause the server to not be able to access the Internet? What I don't understand is how the server itself is connected to the Internet, so I'm not sure what I should do to fix it. My boss wouldn't care if I'm on the Internet when I am free at work, but she knows nothing about troubleshooting it, and I basically don't want to ask about fixing it so I can surf the web while I work I figure I could do something myself and no one would be the wiser. The reason this is such a big deal is because not being able to access the Internet from work severely cuts down on my LCVG time!! not to mention other sites I'd like to kill time on. The server is running "Terminal Server" and looks pretty much like Windows 98. Any suggestions would be awesome.
Buck
Try accessing LCVG by it's IP address, http://66.22.128.102, as it might be a problem with your DNS server. And I'm assuming you've ruled out that your internet connection may be down?
Starhawk
And I'm assuming you've ruled out that your internet connection may be down? I'm hoping that's all it is. But basically, I'm the only one that uses the net at work, so no one else knows it's down. I'll try using that address tomorrow. Thanks Buck

Starhawk
Jumpin' Jehosophat! All hands, General Quarters! I know. This is like life or death with me. Especially if I get bored at work. I'm just wondering if there are any settings or anything I need to check for it to get back to normal. Starhawk
Dude, do you ever do any work? It's amazing, but yes. But there are times where I have some downtime that I like to fill with productive activities... like surfing the web.
Sam P
Don't you have adult magazines or something in your desk to keep you preoccupied? This is, of course, if you didn't have the internet working. And if your employer has one of those filters that keep you from accessing objectionable materials. In which case you would probably have good old fashioned paper porn.
