splunk
So it's a 20GB HD...what is eating up the other 7GB of space? After deleting all the music etc...there are still only 13GB of available space. Any ideas? Surely it can't be the dashboard and associated software...that'd be way more bloated than Windows! Makes me wonder what size is being reported for core systems with an addon HDD. On a side note...it sucks you can't stream Xvid/Divx. James T
Maybe the space is just reserved for memory files and buffer and other technical stuff? XP uses up a lot of similar space.

dogbert
Just to reiterate what DanB linked to - you want games to make use of the HD, right? Then you're going to lose space to it. That space is reserved for games to make use of, it's reserved for backwards compatibility (Xbox games expect two drives they can write to, one of which is persistant), and just for general system use. splunk
Thanks for the breakdown! I just didn't think it would require that much room.
