kelley
I went last night to buy a new TV at Circuit City, but Ultimate Electronics had it for about $400 cheaper in their latest ad, so I brought the ad with me. Circuit City offered to pricematch it no problem, went to pay and there was an issue with their computers and the lady told me to just come back and bring with me this item ticket stub that she printed out. So I came back today during lunch and all hell broke loose, but to sum it up Circuit City refused to pricematch the TV this morning, even though I had the slip from the night before. I would buy it at Ultimate but they only have the floor model left. I tried to call corporate this afternoon and was told that all store decisions are that of the manager and they back those decisions. I hate you Circuit City. kelley
She is not there today, and the manager has already over ruled her.

Solitice
Ask who the district manager is, then get both the lady’s name and the "ass hats" name and tell your story to the district manager. Stay polite, calm and just explain the facts and then express how upset you are and mention the thought of going to the media about how Circuit city has wronged you. That should have you a discount before the end of the day.
exile
Kelley, You are better off buying from CC now then after the fact getting a refund for 10% of the difference + the difference. If you've seen a lower advertised price from another local store with the same item in stock, we want to know about it. Bring it to our attention, and we'll gladly beat their price by 10% of the difference This is from CC.com. It doesn't state whether the item has to be in stock at the other location or not. That is where BB got out of plenty of pricematches in their day back when I worked for them. I thought CC had the same policy.
matt
That sucks. I had an issue with CC once about a DVD that had a price tag that read $4.99. The computer said $14.99. The manager on duty was a bitch and said it was printed wrong and that it wasn’t their fault. She would not give it to me for $4.99. Apparently she never heard of false advertising. Anyway, I was pissed and called the customer service number the next morning. The lady on the other end was very nice and said she would call and talk with the store manager (it was about 9:30 and they didn’t open until 10:00). Ten minutes later I got a call from the store manager asking me to come on down and they’d sell the DVD to me for $4.99 no problem. If I were you I’d take Solitice’s advice. If that doesn’t work go to the media.

Graeme
It doesn't state whether the item has to be in stock at the other location or not. It says "local store with the same item in stock"
kelley
Well we can unban the Circuit City store on 71st and Memorial in Tulsa, OK. We went in there tonight and I told my story to their manager and he said that he had that set listed on the shelf for $1299.99 to match Ultimate Electronic's price....he just didn't have any in stock. So he calls someone to see if he can help me, and I'm happy to say that he fucking saved the day. I bought the unit at the store but picked it up from the asshole store. I felt like Thor coming into the asshole store with my ticket to pick up the TV that they could have sold me earlier that day except they are all assholes. Yet in all my excitement of defeating the asshole store I forgot to buy a stand for the unit.
Whooter
The bonus is that Asshole store won't even get credit for the sale.

exile
I thought Ultimate Electronics were bankrupt? The company has restructured keeping their money making stores. The one in Tulsa is one of if not their top selling store. The bonus is that Asshole store won't even get credit for the sale Considering they were taking a bath on it likely, it didn't matter. It would have only mattered if Kelley bought a extended warranty. Congrats to you Kelley. Get your HD online ASAP.
PHiL
Well seeing how many people have got there 360's through circuit city.com, I must say i hated them before because of some price problems i had with them in the past... However they have not tried to screw anyone with the price.. They gave us a choice if we wanted the package with games or we could take out the extras.. Circuit City LCVG thanks you!
