foogledricks
I don't think EA will ever publish online games for XBOX. They're already making Madden 2005, which means that they would have to be developing for XBlive right now. If they were, we'd already have heard about it I bet. So in my estimation, that leaves the 2006 line before XBox 2 comes out. Maybe they'll make the switch for the next gen systems. Who knows, but it doesn't seem like they will for the current generation.
EnemaEms
This is a very touchy subject for some and I have seen this topic get vey heated in other places. So, since this is the elite gaming site/forum, lets keep this discussion mature and free of any fanboy comments, just like every other thread here in LCVG. EnemaEms
I don't think we will ever see EA on Live. EA seems to want to run their own type of online strategy (price structure and something similiar to XSN), so I don't think what they want to do molds well with what Microsoft wants to do with Live. However, if playing EA games online is a must for anyone, the PS2 does a fine job of it and also supports voice chat with the new sports titles. -Dean-
JTello
I think the third chice says it all, Maybe - if Microsoft changes their policies I'm not happy about it, and frankly it irritates me as I do not desire to purchase a playstation in this generation, but I would like to enjoy EA's online games. Actually I should be thankful, as they are saving me money. On second thought, nah, I'm just spending it on other games/developers.
Carlucci
I don't have all the facts on this one yet. Can someone point me to a decent article that spells out exactly what is at issue here? Or just give me the bullet on what EA's problem with LIVE is... kelley
Again people speak with your wallet. If you want EA to create Live titles you've got to show them that there is a good reason, your money, for them to do that. By you still buying that copy of Madden 2004 instead of ESPN 2004 or even Fever 2004, you are just showing them that you will put up with their lack of Live support. foogledricks
Not exactly... it just means that XBOX Madden will sell less, making the PS2 look like a more viable platform for the sports titles. I don't think EA can obtain any hard data that says X number of gamers bought Madden for the PS2 or ESPN for XBOX because of their lack of XBlive support. I think this is the case, and it makes it even more frustrating.

Not true, this is what market research is for. -j
Calvin
I voted for maybe - because I do believe that if MS did change their Live policy - that EA would develop online titles for the Xbox. I don't think that it will happen. Like Dean said - you can see how ES is trying to have their own area for online games. If they can find a way to charge for people to play Madden, then they probably will do so. While I am disappointed that there are some titles that won't be available for Xbox online play - there are more than enough quality games to pick up the slack. Camp
Maybe - if Microsoft changes their policies I don't think the onus is on Microsoft to change. I agree with Microsoft that the Live model is the best all-around option for console online gaming. If EA got their way every publisher would demand the same deal and the whole network would fall into jeopardy.
