Robot Monkey
1. The entire gang is on Howard100 right now doing an on-air test. 2. Developing story: A member of the Whack Pack might've killed someone. 3. Gary mentioned that there may be a warrant out for his arrest somewhere. This stuff keeps coming out even though they keep stopping themselves to save the stuff for the real show on the ninth.
Robot Monkey
Okay, Howard just announced that he's married. Ralph came in and said he's lying. Everyone sounds pretty shocked, although Gary actually sounds a little angry. And right now, Ralph is saying he smells prank. It kinda sounds like a prank that the rest of the cast isn't in on. EDIT: Haha, he couldn't keep it up for more than 2 minutes -- he was just fooling around. And George Takei is killing me! He was actually the first voice on the broadcast and introduced himself as the Howard Stern Show announcer! It turns out that he'll be sitting in all week as the live announcer. He's just too funny. Robot Monkey
And they are working on web streaming. http://www.sirius.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Sirius/Page&c=FlexContent&cid=1130574541451 There's a link there to get notified as soon as streaming is up. kelley
I think is only one reason why webstreaming isn't working.

Hopefully the streaming will be working before the West Coast feed starts up. IIRC, I read on a Sirius blog (linked at Sirius Backstage) that streaming is coming, but it won't be right away. It sounded like it could be a couple of weeks or even months.
The Daisy
Yeah. I just figured that out. I'll have to bring my home kit into work if I want to listen while at work... then I have to hope that the antenna will work in the building.... Robot Monkey
Glen was just telling me how much he likes Takei on the show and I definitely agree. I set my radio for 5:50 and lay there in the dark half asleep. Then Takei came on and I practically became unglued laughing when I heard him and then I almost started choking when I realized he was in there live. He really does fit in there like he belongs. Oh my!
Camp
Are any of the Takei quotes available on the web? I'd love to get a few audio files of his quotes.
The Daisy
I may be able to get a few up at some point this morning, but I have to figure a few things out. Glen
The Daisy
Here are a few Takei clips. The first is the intro to the show. The second is about a NSFW word that Howard used to describe Martha Stewarts daughter. Oh, my...... Takei 1 Takei 2 Glen

They were talking about Martha's daughter during their on-air test on Thursday afternoon, too. Should I really find George Takei saying "Cunt", "Vagina", and "Pussy" funny? I think so... :lmfao The "cunty" mention on Thursday's soundcheck is what spurred the discussion in the soundbite Glen put up. It's a shame Sulu can't take time do this full time. :lmfao
Whooter
Well, technically, he is. On the Wrap Up Show with Gary and John (with drop-ins from George and Howard), they said that he'll be live in-studio all week, but will be the voice of the show/channels via recording... Cool! Robot Monkey
No, no, I mean full-time live. Sulu is just too damn funny!
The Daisy
I can't believe it... my home kit actually gives me two or three bars of signal on my receiver at my office. Woohoo. More Stern at work. Glen
Robot Monkey
Does your receiver have a Signal Indicator in the menu? I'd be curious to know if any part of your work reception is from a terrestrial repeater.
The Daisy
Yes it does. It has 6 bars all the time on the Terrestrial signal indicator. It bursts to all bars at times. This is on a Starmate R receiver. Glen

The Daisy
Well, last weekend the screen got cracked for my brand new receiver... so now I have to find out if I can get the rebate more than once... so I can buy another one. Damnit. Thankfully it still works, you just can't see what channel you're listening to. Glen
Robot Monkey
How did you crack it, Glen? If you transport it a lot, take your Starmate Replay to Wal-Mart and buy a cheap eyeglass case that fits it. Cheap protection.
The Daisy
Basically I take it from my car to my desk at work. Last Friday I went to a hockey game and it was in my pocket... My pocket just got smushed at some point. The screen still lights up, but it got smashed up pretty good. From everything I've seen, my only recourse is to replace it... repairing it, from all I've heard, isn't worth the money. Glen
The Daisy
Well, I don't see anything in the rebates that says that you can't claim more than one on more than one reciever. One thing I see today on Sirius' website is that they are coming out with new receivers that are "sister" receivers to the Starmate Replay and Sportster Replay called the Streamer GTR and the Streamer Replay. The only real difference that I see is that they're a different color. Hopefully these will be in stores soon as all of the stores here are cleaned out of receivers at the moment. Now I'm just debating picking up the replacement to the Sportster instead of the Starmate again. Decisions.... Glen
Robot Monkey
Now I'm just debating picking up the replacement to the Sportster instead of the Starmate again. Decisions.... The Starmate-R happens to fit in my Jeep better than the Sportster-R, but I'd take the Sportster-R over the Starmate-R if I didn't have that fit issue. I like the Sportster-R's bigger screen and proper dock. You might want read up on those Brix clones of the Sirius radios, too. I don't know if they have more quality issues than the other versions. I don't know if they have more quality issues than the other versions. Good to know. I might just go back and get another Starmate-R. I already have a home kit for that one and if I buy another, I'll get another car kit that I can put into my wife's car. That'll probably make her happy... and eventually will lead us to needing both receivers, the LCD broken one and the good one that I'll be using.
