Makes more sense to talk about it here, doesn't it?

This is also the engine powering the next Def Jam game. Hopefully that one will not be too far away. And (also hopefully) the new US development house in Chicago won't ruin the Def Jam gameplay.

I just played a bit of the demo.

I like the changes (no power meters, better graphics), but one thing that will take some getting used to is the pronounced slowdown when you land a great punch and are poised for a knockdown. Because of this, it's hard to land good 1-2 combos to get a knockdown. It throws off your rhythm.

I applaud MS & EA for making this demo available BEFORE the game is released.

Yeah, though I'm hoping EA will work some setting into the game to turn off that particular feature for those that don't want that to happen. With Fight Night 3 though it's a good indication of when you go in for the knockdown, so it's a bit more difficult to outright turn it off.

Some reports are claiming the CES demo of Fight Night is farther along the current market place demo. Either way I'm definitely looking forward to the game in Feb.

Has anyone seen the video at Gamespot with Bill Gates against Steve Ballmer. Gates Was Ali and Ballmer was Frazier. Freakin hillarious. I can't believe Ballmer jumping all around like he's on fire. :lmfao It's the one titled Fight Night Round 3 Video Feature

I saw that when I watched Gate's CES keynote; I don't think Gates was actually playing. It looked too much like a single player game (with the camera switching to a first-person view when Ballmer was about to go down).

It was funny though. Ballmer does look like he's perpetually on fire.

I, for one, like the slow motion sequence before a knockdown. The very first time I played the demo I won by knockout and since then I havent won once. Extremely realistic. Great game to invite the friends over for and pummell each other.

I enjoyed the knockdown slowdown the first few times. After that I kept thinking, "Wow... more sweat splashed off of his face."

Did anyone else find that Roy Jones was a pain in the ass to fight with? I rocked Jones' world with Hopkins though.

On another note, here's something that has the potential to be a great feature with the game.

Experience ESPN live: Up-to-the-minute updates from ESPN Radio and the ESPN Ticker keep you completely up to date in the world of sports.

As long as it runs as a ticker and doesn't pop stuff up like the stupid EA song engine, it'll be a great feature.

It's easier to fight as Hopkins, because he seems to have more power and reach. It's fun to play as Hopkins, but I think it's more fun to play as Jones. You've got to really work to win the fight as Jones. He's got some good speed to his punches, so you can land 3 or 4 hit combos pretty easily, but they don't seem to have enough power.
