Bruce B
Dont know if this will be a typical thumb mashing boxing game but the trailers look fantastic. http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/e/easportsfightnightround3xbox360/default.htm
Dave C
Bruce, In case your not aware, the demo is now available for download from the live marketplace. See the Live Arcade / Marketplace thread for some discussion on the demo. http://www.lcvg.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7531&page=
Camp
Makes more sense to talk about it here, doesn't it? This is also the engine powering the next Def Jam game. Hopefully that one will not be too far away. And (also hopefully) the new US development house in Chicago won't ruin the Def Jam gameplay. Chris The Rock
I just played a bit of the demo. I like the changes (no power meters, better graphics), but one thing that will take some getting used to is the pronounced slowdown when you land a great punch and are poised for a knockdown. Because of this, it's hard to land good 1-2 combos to get a knockdown. It throws off your rhythm. I applaud MS & EA for making this demo available BEFORE the game is released. Romier S
but one thing that will take some getting used to is the pronounced slowdown when you land a great punch and are poised for a knockdown Yeah, though I'm hoping EA will work some setting into the game to turn off that particular feature for those that don't want that to happen. With Fight Night 3 though it's a good indication of when you go in for the knockdown, so it's a bit more difficult to outright turn it off. Some reports are claiming the CES demo of Fight Night is farther along the current market place demo. Either way I'm definitely looking forward to the game in Feb. Bruce B
Just played the demo. Would give the game a big thumbs up if I could get the cramp out of it from throwing so many haymakers.

foogledricks
Damn, I told EA I'd give them no more money, they they go and make me want this and Burnout. Damn them.
ColdForged
Hold strong with your convictions, young padawan. Rent the damned thing. That's what I'll be doing. This one was utterly off my radar until the demo which, especially when played with a friend, was highly entertaining.
ColdFire77
Has anyone seen the video at Gamespot with Bill Gates against Steve Ballmer. Gates Was Ali and Ballmer was Frazier. Freakin hillarious. I can't believe Ballmer jumping all around like he's on fire. :lmfao It's the one titled Fight Night Round 3 Video Feature

It looked too much like a single player game (with the camera switching to a first-person view when Ballmer was about to go down). It was funny though. Ballmer does look like he's perpetually on fire.

Whooter
Nice video. I don't think either one of them was actually playing, tho...

Bruce B
I, for one, like the slow motion sequence before a knockdown. The very first time I played the demo I won by knockout and since then I havent won once. Extremely realistic. Great game to invite the friends over for and pummell each other. Yeah' date=' though I'm hoping EA will work some setting into the game to turn off that particular feature for those that don't want that to happen. Romier S
I, for one, like the slow motion sequence before a knockdown I don't dislike it. It does, however, get a bit tedious after awhile.
The Daisy
I enjoyed the knockdown slowdown the first few times. After that I kept thinking, "Wow... more sweat splashed off of his face." Did anyone else find that Roy Jones was a pain in the ass to fight with? I rocked Jones' world with Hopkins though. On another note, here's something that has the potential to be a great feature with the game. Experience ESPN live: Up-to-the-minute updates from ESPN Radio and the ESPN Ticker keep you completely up to date in the world of sports. As long as it runs as a ticker and doesn't pop stuff up like the stupid EA song engine, it'll be a great feature. Glen
fishepa
I can whoop Roy Jones with Hopkins, but I can't do crap with Jones.
ColdForged
I've knocked out Jones but only knocked Hopkins down twice in one fight. That guy must have a serious jaw on him.
Bruce B
I'm hoping that the full version incorporates ear biting, just like real boxing:p
boogieman
It's easier to fight as Hopkins, because he seems to have more power and reach. It's fun to play as Hopkins, but I think it's more fun to play as Jones. You've got to really work to win the fight as Jones. He's got some good speed to his punches, so you can land 3 or 4 hit combos pretty easily, but they don't seem to have enough power.
exile
You guys should play fight Night round 2. It was phenomenal. I expect this to be better and better looking to boot. You guys will LOVE this game.
Union Carbine
I've really enjoyed the demo. I haven't played as Jones yet but with Hopkins it is easy to pound the bejeezus out of Roy Jr. I'll have to switch and see how the other half lives. I hope they tone down the haymakers (or give an option to turn them off) as I really didn't like them in Round 2.
Camp
I hope they tone down the haymakers (or give an option to turn them off) as I really didn't like them in Round 2. Agreed. Easy access to such a powerful punch ruined Round 2 for me. The first Fight Night was much better.
