Starhawk
This is a pretty funny video I caught from Joystiq and 4CR: http://www.youtube.com/watch.php?v=VMgQLw1rUWM
Rob B
I couldn't really hear the convesation that let up to the smashing of the fake cube
Carlucci
It's a funny prank, but the kid was just destroyed. You can tell the big brother instinct finally kicked in when he told him immediately instead of letting him continue to suffer. Any more suffering would have made it terribly cruel. The music is what makes it funny, though. I wish he would have included a tender reunion scene at the end. Carlos.
Whooter
That guy'll be the first one he shoots when he snaps one day...
JoeyN
If i was that kid, 12/15/05 would have been the day my brother took his last steps

JFo
So, if the guy felt so bad about making his brother cry, why did he post that movie on the Internet?
Camp
why did he post that movie on the Internet? I wonder that about most supposedly "funny" videos floating around the 'net. People go through a lot of effort to shoot, edit, encode, and upload this stuff that it makes me wonder what's going through their head. Not to knock the thread but I didn't find this video funny or entertaining in any way. -and not because I cared about the little kid either but because the video just wasn't well done. I guess if it was done right these internet videographers would be doing segments on TV. Oh well.
Rob B
So, if the guy felt so bad about making his brother cry, why did he post that movie on the Internet? Because some people in this world are just heartless bastards/bitches
Carlucci
So, if the guy felt so bad about making his brother cry, why did he post that movie on the Internet? Peer pressure, maybe. (seemed like I heard another voice when they are outside). I didn't say he felt bad, I just said he let him "off the hook" rather quickly, and I want to believe it was because he saw the devastation, and didn't want it to continue. Maybe instead it was because he knew the kid was about to go tell their parents. The teasing about it, in the form of the video, can continue indefinitely. I can attest, having 2 boys who fight a lot. I saw a bit on America's funniest home videos where people gave their relative fake lotto tickets, to film their elation upon winning and then devastation when told it was a fake. To me, that was far more mean-spirited. Also, I don't get why he's calling him a nintendo fan-boy. Isn't there a vertical PS2 in the frame when they show them disconnecting the gamecube? Carlos. Angel P
I'm sorry but I thought that was hilarious. Toppping it off with the Enya song.
boogieman
I'm sorry but I thought that was hilarious. Toppping it off with the Enya song. Same here. Actually, I think there's more to the story. What exactly did the younger brother do to the older brother's computer? Maybe that little prick had it coming. Romier S
That was just damned mean. The Enya music at the end got a giggle. The actual event was just cruel to me. The poor kid just looked utterly devastated.
General Zot
Didn't even get a chuckle from me, it was just rude. If I was that little brother there would have been blood spilled right there at the sidewalk. I wouldn't care if it was real or fake, the intention being so mean spirited and sadistic was too much. He would have taken that Gamecube in the face until no one was laughing. I had an older brother that with a mean streak growing up (though not GC smashing mean.) This guy is bordering on pathological to plan it, tape it, edit it to music, and put it on the web. And as a parent I would kick the living sh*t out of that older brother. No way, no how, in no circumstances is that looking out for and helping out your sibling. He would get a taste of it with his precious PC for sure if I was his dad. Angel P
Ha! Mean nothing. I know I've played many tricks on my brother growing up (some mean) and they were all justified. And ultimately, with each fucked up trick I'd pull on my bro, he'd mess with my things less and less. It took awhile but he finally learned. Back to the video, he did ask him beforehand if he remembered what he did to his computer so there was something already there to work with. The slow motion kick and shot of the GC flying in the air is what put it over for me.
Rainmaykr
Was it too difficult to put up a title card explaining why the older brother was doing this? Maybe fill in some of the backstory so that when I'm watching it doesn't feel like it should be called "Prick Smashes a Gamecube"? Why call him a fanboy? We don't know from the video why his brother considers him a fanboy. Sissy, maybe, but not fanboy. (I can't imagine why the younger brother didn't start swinging, I mean, according to the sibling code, he had a free pass.) It was a bit anticlimactic without the backstory. 2 stars. Starhawk
A little history on the computer and the fanboy title would have been good, but I thought the video was hilarious. It was totally mean, but so big brother-ish. Just like Carlos said, he realized he had gone too far as soon as he started crying, but Im sure the teasing goes on to this day. Had he continued to taunt him about smashing his Cube while he cried, or even actually destroyed his real Cube, well that would have been crossing the line. P.S. If anything, I was the one getting picked on when I was younger by far. Never on the bully end of things, and I thought the video was really funny. rustyjaw
FWIW, I thought it was mildly funny, but mostly annoying....possibly because I had an older brother who did similar things, and worse frequently as we were growing up.
