Romier S
Yep, 360 owners have been tearing up addicts with paper cutter arms now since the launch of the system, and now PC folks will finally get to enter the world of FBI Agent Ethan Thomas. The game has been announced for a Spring '06 release date. No details on price of the full feature list as of yet (though expect almost identical content to the 360 version). http://www.gamespot.com/news/6142995.html Some screenshots:

Mark E
Sweet, between this and my Call of Cthulu on the way, there'll be no shortage of horror games in the next little bit. I can only claim this to be a good thing :tu
Covak
I just played the PC demo and was pleasantly surprised by a couple of things. I played through the 360 demo a couple of times before. The game is 16:9. Menus will go 4:3, but whatever resolution you pick you're getting 16:9 gameplay (letterboxed if needed). I'm all for widescreen, and especially letterboxing support, but the option to go 4:3 or 16:10 would be nice. Performance is great! Better than I was expecting based on F.E.A.R.'s performance and how the demo played on the 360. I've got a decent compy (A64 3500+, gig of RAM, 7800 GTX), but I wasn't expecting it to run better than the 360 version (with comparable settings). No surprise that they're not really pushing the 360 hardware yet, though. And it's nice that the PC doesn't feel last-gen, yet The two versions look nearly identical. The textures on your cell phone and tools aren't nearly as sharp in the PC demo, which confuses me. I hope they're the same in the full PC game (love how they look in the 360 demo), but I can't imagine why they'd be different just for the PC demo. Really looking forward to finally playing this

dogbert
Heh. I should be getting a copy this weekend, be curious to see how it runs on my rig. Might be a game I have to play in work with the lights off.
Mark E
Picked my copy up this afternoon, looking forward to smashing people with blunt objects and not going to jail for it .
Covak
If anyone else is seeing nasty shadow problems (shadows flickering bright) with an NVIDIA card, rolling back my drivers to 81.98 fixed things for me. First few chapters have been a great ride =)
Cyberwoo
Ouu I gotta check this game out. The 360 demo was neato. Can't wait to play the full version.
Covak
Just finished the game. Good God, that was terrifying! Monolith sure knows how to scare the living shit out of me. For much of the game I thought "F.E.A.R. was a lot more scary." But then I was freaking out almost constantly for the last few chapters. Certain things towards the end were so awesome. I was never a Monolith fan before, but F.E.A.R. and Condemned have made me love them. Incredible single-player experiences.
Romier S
Glad you liked it Covak. I've been singing its praises since the 360 launch and it's great to see folks on the PC platform finally being able to play the game. I was never a Monolith fan before, but F.E.A.R. and Condemned have made me love them. Incredible single-player experiences. Immediately rush out and pick up No One Lives Forever and its sequel No One Lives Forever 2: A Spy in H.A.R.M.'s Way. The sequel is everything Perfect Dark Zero so desperately wanted to be and utterly failed at. It's got a fantastic online coop mode as well. Both games are a good bit different than the experiences F.E.A.R. and Condemned offer, but both are top quality. I'd also recommend picking up Alien Vs. Predator 2 for the PC. It's developed by Monolith and the Marine campaign is probably the closest I've ever seen a videogame come to the harrowing atmosphere of the second film.:tu

I had no idea who did that, now that I think about it. Loved it I enjoyed all the single-player, and some three player LAN multiplayer, marine vs. alien vs. predator, was some of the coolest stuff ever. Had some good times with it online, too. I'll see if I can find them NOLF games on the cheap.
Cyberwoo
Been playing this on the PC and enjoying it alot. Got to the level where you encounter the "twin blade" dude up in the attic of a house. Love the visceral feeling the melee combat gives you. When you smack someone with a pipe you can FEEL it. Very satisfying after a long night at work.
