Big Daddy Bling Bling
http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZhear_it_again_cdsQQhtZ-1 Everything I am selling is 100% new in the wrapping as you would see it in a store. None of these are from a personal collection and I personally guarantee everything to work upon arrival. Shipping is 2.50 for your first CD/DVD/Game, and another 1.25 for every single one after that. I recently purchased a giant liquidation lot from an electronics store online. I took a second mortgage on my house to pay for all these items because I knew that once I got them on ebay they would sell for far more than I paid for them. Everything I've listed is in hand and ready to ship out, and I've hired some neightborhood kids to help me with shipping these hundreds of items in the coming weeks. I accept payment by money order or personal check only to the address ebay will provide you if you win, sorry, but I'm just not comfortable using paypal. I'm usually a seller on half.com, but I'm selling some items on ebay now because they fit better with that selling format. Be sure to check out my other items on ebay and half! Thanks, Andrew Wilson He spent a couple months building up a little bit of feedback, then all of a sudden listed 50 qty of a bunch of games to rack up a ton of sales at once before the negs start rolling in. Just thought I'd post this here, he has low prices on a lot of games people from LCVG might be looking at, but this is almost certainly a scam in the making. iainl
They're not hugely reduced, are they?
secretvampire
Yikes....kinda like watching a train wreck.
Camp
I don't understand. I'm not an Ebay person so I don't immediately see the problem with what this seller is doing. I do agree that his prices aren't very good.
Gary P
He's saying that the seller built up a little good feedback based on positive transactions so that people would feel comfortable buying from him. Now he's going to collect on these sales, when in reality he has no product to ship. There was already some guy that did this to the nth degree last month. There's a website dedicated to finding the guy, but it's name alludes me at the moment. Edit: Here's the guy Alisher
Carlucci
Wow, just read up on the Alisher scam and that was a doozy. Like Camp, I don't do much ebaying at all, so when I read this I'm inclined to think "hmm, here's a guy taking a risk on buying a huge inventory, decent rating, why not?". But, the thing that would have sent a red flag for me is the check/MO only demand. I hope those of you with some gravitas with Ebay will warn others or report the dude before he makes off with a fortune. Carlos.
Josh
Wow, just read up on the Alisher scam and that was a doozy. Like Camp, I don't do much ebaying at all, so when I read this I'm inclined to think "hmm, here's a guy taking a risk on buying a huge inventory, decent rating, why not?". Yeah, I can see that, but why bother with the hassles of eBay at these prices? I looked through the Alisher thing, and on the iPods, people were paying $275-$290 for an older model 30gig iPod Photo when they could buy the new 30gig iPod video for $299. I don't get it. Sometimes people get what they deserve. I'm in the middle on this one.
Bruce B
The key is when you buy something on Ebay via Paypal to have it hit your credit card unstead of coming out of your account so at least you can contest the charge with your credit card provider. Big Daddy Bling Bling
Sometimes people get what they deserve. I'm in the middle on this one. I don't think anyone deserves to be scammed. The scheme here wouldn't be obvious to someone who isn't experienced with ebay. I just noticed it because he had the lowest price on Condemned. Then: 1.WTF....there are 50 of them? 2. Hmmm....let me check his other auctions. Yep, lots of other games being sold in massive quantities at prices not quite low enough to be "suspicious". 3. Feedback check.....hmmm, hasn't been around for very long and his sales are on an exponentially smaller scale than the amount of product he just listed. 4. Confirmed by checking the payment instructions, perfectly laid out to allow the scam to proceed. Someone who just looked at a single auction would only see a decent price on a game from a seller with decent feedback.
Big Daddy Bling Bling
Looks like his scheme got preempted. I didn't expect Ebay to actually do anything, the normal Ebay response is to ignore potential scams and then express fake sympathy and regret once they happen. http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=hear_it_again_cds I kind of wonder how much money he cleared. He had 50+ sales on some games and 50 different games listed. If everyone who bought something sent payment, he could have easily cleared $50,000. Jon W H
This is precisely why I avoid eBay. I have trouble trusting people's reputations built via the Internet in business matters. Just too many possible bad scenarios. I remember the poor people who bought empty 360 boxes...
