Ryan FB
Hmmmm. I'm pretty sure an enterprising web programmer would be able to automate this.I'm actually working on this right now. It doesn't seem hard at all. I'm just hackily doing it by grabbing the image and OCR'ing the score area, I don't think there's an API to just get the score. The Daisy
Thanks for the help man. Don't forget to add fishepa to the list. Glen
boogieman
So does it automatically update and move the gamertag up when the gamerscore changes?

I'm pretty sure there is an unpublished API or service to get the details, isn't that how mygamercard.net generates theirs on the fly?
Romier S
Don't forget Fractured on the forum as well. I believe he is over the 5,000 mark score wise. Exellent work Glen, you are a daisy among men but we love you nonetheless;). When all the automation, site stuff, etc. is done and we get the LCVG colors on there let me know and I'll talk to Kelley about moving it over and getting it on the front page as well. Ryan FB
I'm pretty sure there is an unpublished API or service to get the details, isn't that how mygamercard.net generates theirs on the fly?Looks like you're right, there's a much cleaner way to screenscrape instead of downloading the image then OCR'ing it. http://gamercard.xbox.com/Name.card returns some pretty scrapable HTML. The Daisy
That stuff is well beyond my level of HTML. Mine pretty much ends where my knowledge of Basic ended. 10 print "You like poo." 20 Goto 10 Glen
Rainmaykr
That last group is off the chain. It's by far the sexiest group.
LimeyYankee
Cool page guys :rock I think that the guys above 3000 or more should think about changing their Gamer Zones from Recreation to Pro
Jeff W
That last group is off the chain. It's by far the sexiest group. Quoted for truth. I purposely stopped at 995 just to stay there.
The Daisy
There is no way I'm changing my Gamer Zone. Have you seen me play games online? I'm right where I should be in recreational. Glen
Ryan FB
Yeah, in the simplest form, this is like 37 lines of Perl code, way easier and better than the convoluted crap I had before. I'm working on formatting the output into some nice HTML now. Edit: If you want to put something like this on the site eventually, it probably wouldn't be too hard to have it pull the gamertag values from people's profiles.
