PC and Videogame price thread

Recommended Posts

Hey there all.

It's been brought to my attention that I'm a traitor for having the Videogame price thread at the HTF.

Honestly, I've been debating ending the thread as it doesn't seem to get much traffic and there are quite a few sources on the internet now for that sort of information.

I'm looking for input as to whether you think I should keep it going.

Thanks.

Glen

"Aw, shucks. Look what the cat hauled in."

Ok, I'll be bringing the thread over here starting this week.

I'll be taking suggestions from everyone as to things they'd rather see.

The thread does take a bit of work each week, and I'm probably going to tune it to make it a bit easier to get done in a quicker amount of time. It's always tricky to get a few hours for it each Sunday, but I'll see what I can do.

Thanks for the kind words.

Glen

I have a bit of feedback. My biggest interests are the price drops and clearance sections. I have gotten tired of paying $50 for new games when they drop in price very quickly, and I always have a backlog of stuf to play. I just wait for them to drop to $20-30 before I bite (occasional exceptions). Your threads have been GREAT for this, and also for tipping me off when certain stores are having clearance prices on certain games. I have bought many games for $10-$15 I never would have paid more for, and wound up loving.

Anyway, I just wanted to point out, I am one person who am glad the comparisons are there for the new releases (and occasionally I jump on a great deal), but just LOVE seeing which slightly older games have dropped in price.

Well, perhaps "traitor" was too strong a word. :)

Great news, Glen! About the only regret I have from my HTF-banning is I can't post in that thread. Someone once mentioned they didn't care to have to read through all the older titles that had reached the $15-$20 range. I love finding those games! You obviously put a lot of hard work into your thread and it's much appreciated.

Glen,

Just in case you needed any more anecdotal evidence of how useful your thread is, last night I purchased a brand new copy of Metroid Prime for $19.99 at Blockbuster. I probably wouldn't have even thought to look at Blockbuster if I hadn't read your thread, and I might have paid the full $49.99 at Best Buy or Circuit City. Good thing I checked first!
