I'm in.

I honestly don't think the server issue has to do with how many players are in a room. I've been in rooms with six people and had no issues at all -- in fact, several of us played yesterday with five and had no issues. I think it's more with how EA's servers handle the "handoff" to connect a player to the host. For some reason, some people just cannot connect to rooms hosted by certain players. For instance, I might not be able to connect to a game hosted by Quicksand but I might connect, no trouble at all, to a room hosted by FracturedZero.

I had similar issues with friends in EA Sports servers on the PS2 -- sometimes we could connect, sometimes we would never get past the team selection screen.

I'm in for this!

I'm looking forward to beating Keith in another tourney and wearing his mom as a facemask!

And, for the reasons Actinide stated, I'm for keeping this at 6 player matches. Beyond the technical aspect, 6 players last night was just more fun than the four player matches,... i.e. more carnage. :rock

I'm in. Hope the connection nightmares are fixed!

Carlos.

Well, from my experience, the connection issues still exist. I had ZERO success with Burnout the last two months. Then I recently changed my router AND my ISP, and now it works! It works! Which is why I wanted to do this tournament. Which reminds me. BFME2 should work now too! I am so friggin excited.

That must explain why Joel looks extra satisfied on your avatar these days...

No, that excitement is because Jason finally got a 360. See the contentment in his face as I do him doggie style. BTW Keith, it's jussssst about time for a new avatar.

Im my anecdotal experience, this can make a difference with EA servers. I had fewer issues once I dumped Microsoft's wireless-g router for a D-Link router, and even fewer issues once I upgraded to the D-Link DGL-4300. YMMV.

My cousin -- a frequent sparring partner -- also has BellSouth DSL service, and I am convinced that is one reason for many of our issues.

Then again, I've almost NEVER has connection issues with online gaming from any other publisher, regardless of my networking setup, so EA has to shoulder some of the blame.

I probably wouldn't blame EA if it were not for the problems always happening when a big "Connecting to EA servers" dialog box is on the screen. But now that it is fixed, I don't care what the cause was.
