Carlucci
Mike turns 31 today. Here's his interview.... -------------------- 1. What kind of work do you do? I have been working in the microelectronics manufacturing industry for 12 years now. Currently employed at a company called ONSemi here in Gresham, Oregon. They make simple transistor switches. There are a bunch of ONSemi chips inside the Xbox 360 for example. Anyway its boring work but it pays the bills. Can't complain. 2. Where did you get the name Cyberwoo, and what does it mean? Its stupid really and quite frankly I can't believe I still use the name. I guess once everyone in your little online community knows you by one name it becomes hard to change. Anyway it started way back in 1993 or so when me and my cousin would play a game called King Of Monsters on one of those Neo Geo arcade systems (you know the kind with 4 games built into them?). I would always pick the character named Cyberwoo (see my avatar pic). During battle my cousin would always scream "Cyberwoooooo!" and it became a thing between us. Anyway it carried onto my computer where I would call myself Cyberwoo while playing games. It has been my online persona ever since. How stupid of a story is that? Sorry you asked I bet. 3. What is your earliest videogame memory? That would have to be the Atari 5200 (or was it 2600??). The games were Centipede, Missle Command, and some top down racing game. This was around 1983-84. 1985 of course saw the dawn of Nintendo and video games have been in my life ever since. 4. What is your favorite game of all time? Oh boy thats a tough one. I dont know that I can say any one game is my favorite of alltime. Half-Life 2 would certainly be up there. That game is just pure perfection. The level design, the character animation, the sound, the enemy design, the atmophere, the pacing of the game, the weapons (can you say gravity gun?), the fluid controls, everything is just perfect. I guess HL2 is my pick then although it is so tempting to name so many more. 5. What's hobbies/activities do you enjoy when you are not playing videogames? Basketball, golf, mountain biking, hiking, photography, listening to music, watching movies, etc. Nothing out of the ordinary I suppose. 6. If you had to live in a world with no force feedback wheels OR a world without the internet, which would you choose? Ok I will use this as the time to say this. The "force feedback wheel guy" label has to go....seriously. Editor's note: How about as a gift to him, can one of the mods remove the force-feedback label? 7. If you could travel back in time in only one direction, would you go into to the past or into the future? Why? In the past. Would like to see things as they once were before man screwed everything up. ------------------------ Thanks Mike, for the interview. For the record, I thought "Force Feedback" was an earpiercing sound you got whenever you use Jedi powers. Hope you have a great Birthday. Carlos.
