Romier S
Eragon does absolutely nothing for me. I can't help but get an 'I'm trying desperately to be LOTR' vibe from it. It may end up being decent and I'll probably give it a rental, but I'll more than likely skip a theatricl view it. Changing gears, check out this FUCKING AWESOME trailer for Frank Miller's 300!:rock 300 Trailer
marsrunner
"300" looks good. The music in that trailer was completely ridiculous...hope that's just temp scoring. As far as "Eragon" is concerned, my 12-year old will want to see it, otherwise I couldn't care less. Definitely has that "I want to be Lord of the Harry Potter Wardrobe" feeling going on. Romier S
The music in that trailer was completely ridiculous...hope that's just temp scoring. It's Nine Inch Nails. "Just Like you Imagined" I have to respectfully disagree on the use of said song in the trailer. I love it.
Josh
I didn't like the NIN in the trailer, either, although the movie looks great.
exile
Interestingly enough the director is also doing Rainbow Six for the theater in 2008.
Romier S
Zack Snyder was also responsible for the Dawn of Dead Remake in 2004 which I also enjoyed the hell out of.
Romier S
Here's the apple.com release of the 300 trailer. It's a bit different than the first release I posted a page back and has a few new tidbits. It has the same use of Nine Inch Nails so those that disliked the music in the first trailer, won't be any happier (though I continue to love it and I really am looking forward to seeing this in the theater). http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/300/trailer1/
Jordan_E
Watched that this morning. Looks like something I may actually have to venture out of my HT to see next year!
bendak
Trailer: http://images.apple.com/movies/wb/300/300-tlr1_h640w.mov Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, 300 is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite. Website: http://300themovie.warnerbros.com/ This movie looks like its going to have some awesome visuals. Wow. exile
We're discussing this in the film thread.

Romier S
Nah, no big deal. When it comes to films, I'm ok with setting up a separate thread for individual films outside of the upcoming movies thread if there's interest. I went ahead and pulled the posts about 300 over to this thread and we can continue the discussion here.
ChrisBardon
A little different from the first trailer, but it still looks really good. I have a feeling that this'll be pretty much a 2 hour, slickly produced action sequence, which is fine with me. I'll have to go back to the original comics to see what else to look for, since I don't remember them being anything extraordinary. I remember the artwork being great, but nothing quite up to Sin City levels of story. Still, Alan Moore should talk to Framk Miller about advice on film licensing sometime
JoeyN
When i saw the trailer and what 300 was about, I had to let out a laugh. I was remembering ST: DS9's finale
