Bruce B
With the prominence of the 360, and the upcoming arrival of the PS3 and Wii, I would think it would make sense to seperate the 3 major consoles into their own console categories instead of lumping them under one header. Just a suggestion.
db
We had this discussion on a previous version of the forum, when each console did have its own area. I think it was the right decision to have everything in one section, which gives exposure of all games and systems to people who might otherwise avoid info on all but their favorite console(s). It helps combat fanboyism, if only by a little bit. Besides, many games are cross-platform.
iainl
With the vast majority of 360 games also coming to the PS3 and vice versa, plus everyone wanting to discuss whether they should buy the shiny graphics version or the one with the funny controls, a lot of console game discussion is going to remain cross-platform. Romier S
We had this discussion on a previous version of the forum, when each console did have its own area. Correct. We used to have separate areas for each of the console platforms Bruce and frankly it might as well have been as though the Sony/Nintendo platforms didn't exist back then. We are (for better or worse) a very Xbox-centric forum but I like to think that people are open minded enough to read topics on other platforms and give those games/platforms a chance. They just need to be able to see those topics (and not intentionally avoid them;) ). Which is exactly why we consolidated all of the platform specific forums into one area of conversation. Like db, I think it was the right the thing to do. Not only from the standpoint of exposure, but also because of these points: Besides, many games are cross-platform. With the vast majority of 360 games also coming to the PS3 and vice versa, plus everyone wanting to discuss whether they should buy the shiny graphics version or the one with the funny controls, a lot of console game discussion is going to remain cross-platform.
