Tonner Cyn
I just picked up the Student/Teacher version of Office 2007. I have the previous Standard version running on my machine at home. Should I uninstall the old version before putting on the new one? Should I back-up my files just in case something strange happens? Thanks!
GreenMonkey
With most products, especially Microsoft products, you're better off uninstalling the old version before installing the new one. You shouldn't need to do any backups of anything else...this isn't Windows we're talking about, just a standalone program.
Camp
I just installed 2007 right over my old copy of Office. It uninstalls the old stuff as part of the installation process. I haven't had any problems.
Tonner Cyn
I went ahead and uninstalled first. The only thing that happened is that I lost Outlook as my email, but I just went ahead and switched to Outlook Express. Liking the look of Office 2007 so far, but I do have to re-familiarize myself with a number of features.
