Halo Slowdown?

Quick question, but didn't everyone else notice the massive slowdown in the final run (warning, picking up hitchhikers...), or is my Xbox defective? I've yet to see anyone mention this at all. This isn't meant to be a slam or incite a riot (which is why I've posted it here), just looking for confirmation.

Nothing wrong with your box, the slowdown is horrendous. I have to believe that this is one of the prices you pay for a game being forced to meet a launch date. With additional time, I'm sure the code could have been optimized. Worst thing, is the last run is a timed run. Sort of like running the 100 meter dash in bullet-time. Arrrgggghhhh!!!

This is one thing I'm concerned about regarding Halo 2. Better graphics, more effects and more things going on can only lead to one thing...
Only thing about that is is that they've said they've worked to actually reduce poly counts and rely more on bamp mapping and shaders to get the graphics looking better. So the net poly budget should be even better. I guess we'll see.
