Whooter
http://www.nwanews.com/adg/Editorial/187608/ Daylight exacerbates warningYou may have noticed that March of this year was particularly hot. As a matter of fact, I understand that it was the hottest March since the beginning of the last century. All of the trees were fully leafed out and legions of bugs and snakes were crawling around during a time in Arkansas when, on a normal year, we might see a snowflake or two. This should come as no surprise to any reasonable person. As you know, Daylight Saving Time started almost a month early this year. You would think that members of Congress would have considered the warming effect that an extra hour of daylight would have on our climate. Or did they ? Perhaps this is another plot by a liberal Congress to make us believe that global warming is a real threat. Perhaps next time there should be serious studies performed before Congress passes laws with such far-reaching effects. CONNIE M. Baiter
Think about how dumb your average American is. Now consider half of America is dumber then that guy.
General Zot
I'm thinking "Stupid People" would be a better title. Their being liberal is a random chance, their stupidity would be assured under any political bend.
exile
While funny this isn't as funny as the Sheryl Crow's demands for us to use less TP.
PackFan
The sad part is.... Some people will read this and not see how stupid it is. First of all - that I believe that legislation was passed BEFORE the new Congress - so it was actually a conservative majority. Second of all - that daylight savings has any effect on the amount of actual daylight. :bh
foogledricks
Starting a "Stupid Conservatives" thread right now. I just need to find a story to go with it.
PackFan
Starting a "Stupid Conservatives" thread right now. I just need to find a story to go with it. I think you can just link back to this thread... The author of that letter was obviously a "stupid conservative" trying to blame "liberals" for something completely moronic... Jordan_E
To that I say: :urawesome America needs to WAKE UP! And please don't set those clocks back even further, because then it changes TIME ITSELF!

Lutter
Oh, I get it, because a liberal has never said something stupid. Notice the sarcasm in my voice. I will also add a smilie to further cement it
Rob B
That reminds of this time I was sitting in on a friends radio show and they were talking about something like this. Some one called in and told her "well I heard that the sun is actullay getting closer to the earth." Lets just say the mute buttons were hit rather qucikly. Jordan_E
"well I heard that the sun is actullay getting closer to the earth." I bet, if I posted this on a couple of other sites I go to, it will spread like wildfire! The 'Net is worse than radio...
dogbert
The author of the original letter's apparently got a long history of pranking her local newspaper like this.

Better yet - see if you can find a spin to blame the sun getting closer to the earth on the libertarians...
Whooter
The author of the original letter's apparently got a long history of pranking her local newspaper like this. Then it's even funnier. Are there more examples out there?
dogbert
Maybe pranking is a strong word, she's very sarcastic in her letters. Do a search on that nwanews.com site for "Connie Meskimen" & you'll find some of her letters to the editor.
