Dave C
The propane grill thread seemed to provide some good recommendations so I thought I would start this thread as I am in the market for a pressure washer. I have a huge wood deck in my backyard and I've been using a garden hose to keep it clean but that is no longer doing the job especially when it comes time to restain and seal. I also want to get rid of the gutter overflow drip stains and remove some mold forming on my sideing. Anybody have any experience with the Briggs & Stratton pressure washers? Are B&S engines good or should I spend a bit more on a model with a Honda engine instead?
Orpheus
Either would probably serve you well. The only engine I know I'd probably stay away from is Campell Hausfeld, it's the brand you see alot at Walmart or Harbor Freight tools. I ran a boarding kennel for 4 years and we had a small Karcher electric that was a freaking tank. We really abused it and it lasted for several years of very heavy use. The Coleman's that replaced it were POS'es in comparison.

Always starts(3 pulls after being in cold storage for the winter) and runs great. I cant remember whether its 5 hp or 5.5 hp. I did a lot of research before ending up with this one. Good customer service also. I bought it from Amazon and when I got it the spray handle was cracked and the wheel wobbled from being roughed up during shipment. Karcher overnighted the parts to me. PoisonJam
Good to hear about Karcher; they have a model at BJ's that I have been considering for a while.
Bruce B
When I bought it my wife asked what the hell I needed it for. After seeing the difference in our deck she realized. Great handy piece of equipment.
Dave C
When I bought it my wife asked what the hell I needed it for. After seeing the difference in our deck she realized. Great handy piece of equipment. Exactly the response I got from my wife this past weekend. Made damn quick work of the deck furniture as well. No more hand scrubbing. The furniture looks brand new. I ended up getting the 2,500 PSI Troy-Built with the Honda Engine at 10% off: http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=248615-348-20296&lpage=none I also purchased a variable speed spray nozzle.
