Chris The Rock
I recently upgraded to Vista, and I would like to re-instate my playlists and other metadata (ratings, etc) that I kept on my WinXP install of iTunes. I backed up my iTunes library files, but I can't figure out how to get my new install to recognize them. Anyone have practical advice? iTunes support online treats every person like a complete n00b, so I don't have the patience to wade through dozens of pages. I'll of course be googling this topic too, I just figured that some of you folks may have done this before.
EnemaEms
You needed to do an export of your library, then import it on the new machine. -Dean-
Chris The Rock
I can still do that, I still have the drive that had my xp install and all the programs. Just have to hook it back up and dump off the exported library. Thanks for the info.
EnemaEms
No problem. -Dean-
Chris The Rock
OK, I've done this, and I have my playlists back. But - none of my ratings. Is there anyway to capture that data? Even third party stuff?
Chris The Rock
Never mind. A few hoops later, I figured it out. Can't really tell you what combination of things worked, but I got it.
